I'm Laura Reeve, a student in Art & Design with a minor in Arts Entrepreneurship. My passion is in technical artistry, game art, and game design.
Going to University, I never expected to have ended up where I now am. At that time, my major was Environmental science and my passion was plants. While I realized that was not my true life path, I still am thankful for the study I did, because it allows me to mix the STEM world and the Arts world together, something that has greatly furthered my game design journey.
Currently, I work as a College of Design tour guide. Last summer, I worked as a Girls Make Games camp counselor for Deaf girls. Both of these jobs have been life-changing personally and professionally.
Last year, I was able to talk about Neurodivergent Narratives in Gaming at the East Coast Games Conference. That summer, I received a scholarship to go to the ACM SIGGRAPH conference. And this year, I will be attending the Game Developer Conference.
Outside of academics, I currently am secretary for the Autistic and Neurodivergent Student Alliance and treasurer for ACM SIGGRAPH at NC State.
My diverse interests have always pushed me to be a better designer, listener, and mentor. And I hope to continue to be those things both inside and outside of the classroom.
